MAC Brick-O-La Lipstick Review and Swatches
By Contributor: Agnirupa Acharyya
Brrrr..and its winter!! Which means I get to wear all the creamy, glossy, smooth lipsticks I have and go for darker colors other than my usual nudes and mlbb lipsticks. This particular MAC Amplified Creme lipstick I wanted to lay my hands on for the longest time and while it was in stock when I did not *read=was too broke* get it and poof! Remained OOS till it drove me up the wall but aahh gotcha! My Brick-o-la! Here is my review and swatches on it.
MAC Claims: Colour texture for the lips. Stands out on the runway. Simmers on the street! What made M·A·C famous.

Brick-O-La is described as a mid tone berry in amplified finish by MAC. The color brick-o-la is a reddish brick with a rosy tint which makes it an absolute delight for Indian women to carry off in any situation and complexion! No wonder its such a popular shade here. It has the perfect dose of warmth to it which makes your lips look polished, classy yet understated.
The pigmentation is superb as usual and a couple of swipes is enough to cover up any lip pigmentation.
The finish is amplified cream finish which makes it oh so comfortable to wear during these months. The formula glides on smooth and creamy on lips and does not require prepping or priming beforehand. Even in this dry season it does not dry out my lips or accentuate the dry patches, so am grateful.

The staying power is quite good, lasting about 3-4 hours through food and drinks. The lipstick comes packaged in our familiar MAC black and silver tube with its tight click cap making it sleek and travel friendly.

Here is how it looks on my lips
MAC Brick O La on my Indian Skin

The pros of MAC Brick-O-La Lipstick:
- Sleek, travel friendly packaging.
- Texture is smooth, creamy and applies very easily!
- Does not dry out lips.
- Excellent pigmentation- a couple of swipes is enough to cover lip pigmentation.
- Warm, rosy reddish brick color perfect for Indian skin.
- Yummy vanilla fragrance
The cons of MAC Brick-O-La Lipstick:
- None really except the fact that its really not some out of the world shade which cannot be found in other brands! Easy dupes are available if you are on a budget.

Price: Rs.990
VNA Rating: 4/5
Do I recommend? MAC Amplified Creme Brick-O-La Lipstick is a pretty brick nude shade. For all MAC fanatics like me out there *and I am guessing there are too many* this is one of the warm rosy comfortable shades to wear for Indian skin tones with any outfit, any look and looks so classy and lovely both day as well during night but those who want an alternative such colors can easily be found in any drugstore brand. So…not really a must-have !
Before I saw the contributor’s name. I saw the lipswatch ans knew it was Agnirupa!! I think you have that kind of lips which can amp up any lipstick rather than the other way round.
